The recipients of the 2009 Kennedy Center Honors are Mel Brooks, Dave Brubeck, Grace Bumbry, Robert De Niro, and Bruce Springsteen.

- Kennedy Center Honors -32nd Annual Kennedy Center Honors - The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced the selection of the individuals who will receive the Kennedy Center Honors of 2009. Recipients to be honored at the 32nd annual national celebration of the arts are: writer, composer, actor, director, and producer Mel Brooks; pianist and composer Dave Brubeck; opera singer Grace Bumbry; actor, director, and producer Robert De Niro; and singer and songwriter Bruce Springsteen. The Honors Gala will be broadcast on CBS as a two-hour prime-time special on December 29, 2009 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The Kennedy Center Honors medallions will be presented on Saturday, December 5, the night before the gala, at a State Department dinner hosted by Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.

Amber I still am holding out hope that by some miricle you get to do a stop over in Texas.Austin would Love you,San antonio would really like you,both have college campuses.Waco has Baylor,most are little rich kids that are too cool to ask but I know Baylor would Love you,and to top it off I live there and being your #1 Fan in Texas it would complete my dreams. All I want is to see you live and personally get an autograph.You have given me 4 hand signed autograph in the past but I want to see you live preforming. I would help promote or anything to help.It's very hard for me to travel these days on long trips,due to several operations and gun shot wounds in the line of duty.Do not feel sorry or ant emapathy for me,everything was protecting the people and I am proud of that.
If Texas is out,something close would be better,in any means I am saving up to travel out to Ca. or New York ,where ever during 2010 and catching one of your shows.I will write when I find out when and where and speak to your business manager to see if it can be made a little easier to get in.I would give my right barm to actually meet you and get a picture with you but that's your choice.Anyway thanks for a forum to express my thoughts and feeling.Hope your dreams all come true.Peace always go with you.David
